Happy New Year 2019 ! This year RBA Films is celebrating its two decades of unflagging service to Nepali film and entertainment industry. To mark this event RBA is making all the necessary preparations to launch a new program that will surely prove to be a milestone for Nepali film industry. Teams from Nepal, Hong Kong and USA are jointly working day and night on this project that will be unveiled in the coming months. RBA Films considers this project as a part of its constant efforts to update, upgrade and tackle the challenges thrown by ever changing technological advancements. During its inception towards late 1990s RBA Films was probably the first Nepali production and rental house to make a successful transition from a linear analog to non-linear digital set up. RBA was again quick to accept the demand and challenges given by premium television channels when they decided to launch international reality shows like Nepal Idol Season I & II, Boogie Woogie, The Voice of Nepal and Who wants be a millionaire? RBA had played a huge role while importing state of the art technological equipments needed for these programs.

Nepali feature film THE NECKLACE directed by Rudra Bahadur Gurung and filmed by cinematographer David Chow is officially available on amazon.com and Google Movie store. Movie buffs who were not able to watch the movie on theatres can now enjoy the viewing by accessing the amazon.com.
THE NECKLACE TO BE SCREENED IN HONGKONG
After successfully participating in Silk Road Film Festival in China and Fukuoka International Film Festival in Japan, Nepali film The Necklace directed by Rudra Bahadur Gurung will make a special screening in Hong Kong on… to support the Earthquake affected communities in Nepal. The charity screening will be watched by a bevy of well known local actors from HongKong and Nepali diaspora.
FUKUOKA WILL HOST A SPECIAL SCREENING OF THE NECKLACE
There will be a special screening of The Necklace in Fukuoka, Japan on 21 May 2016. The Necklace had participated in 2015 edition of Fukuoka Asian Film Festival japan.
Nepal could soon be one of the favorite shooting locations for filmmakers from Hongkong. Prominent Hongkong filmmaker Choi Kai Kwong who became famous for catapulting actors Leslie Cheung and Danny Chan into stardom with the movie “Encore” is making final preparations to shoot his latest movie “Lost in Nepal” in Nepal. Nepali filmmaker Rudra Gurung who is coordinating the production procedures informed that Lost in Nepal will see an amalgam of artists from Hongkong and Nepal with David Chow handling the responsibility of director of photography.
Gurung who had recently participated in Hongkong International Film Market (2016) revealed that many filmmakers from Hongkong showed a keen interest in doing their film projects in Nepal after watching his film “The Necklace”. Filmmaker Gurung also confided that Hongkong filmmaker Dr. Pierre Lam known for his award winning film “Silk Road with Love” is also likely to shoot his next project in Nepal.
RBA Films is currently producing a music video under the direction of filmmaker Rudra Bahadur Gurung and shot by cinematographer Baburam Nepali. The video – using RED Camera 35mm- is being shot in various locations in and outskirts of Kathmandu. The video features the song entitled “Pal” from the album “Pal” of singer Govinda Gurung. Ace choreographer Gamvir Bista and upcoming actress Dina Tamang are in the lead roles.

GURKHAS’ BLUES is a milestone documentary in the field of human rights and activism advocating the rights of British Gurkhas serving the British army in the various theatres of war. The documentary follows the lives of many ex-Gurkhas who had been unceremoniously laid off after the wars. GAESO, the organization fighting for the rights of Gurkhas presented the documentary in the UN Human Rights hearings in Geneva.
BONDED FOR GENERATIONS: In the far western districts of Nepal human bondage is still in practice. Families who had taken loans from landlords are never able to clear the debts and thus remain bonded for generations. The male mainly perform backbreaking agricultural duties while the female do household chores and help their male counterparts in the field.
C-MALA (NECKLACE) OFFICIALLY INVITED TO 4 INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVALS
C-MALA or NECKLACE made its international debut at the First Silk International Film Festival 20th October 2014 Fuzhou China where it received an official invitation along with other international films.
C-MALA or NECKLACE had the unique distinction of participating in the famous Hong Kong International Film Mart in 23-26 March 2015 C-MALA was the sole Nepali Feature Film to represent Nepal in the mart.
